At TeethPal we care about your privacy. This policy explains what data we process and how we protect it.

Your photos and messages

Your dental photos stay on your device. To analyze them, TeethPal sends them over a secure connection to OpenAI, a third-party AI service; your chat messages with Minty are sent to OpenAI too. Photos are not stored on our servers after the analysis. OpenAI does not use this data to train its models and keeps it for up to 30 days, only for safety monitoring.

Third-party AI (OpenAI)

• What is shared: the photos of your teeth and mouth you take in a scan (your face may be visible), the messages you send Minty, and the text of your scan results when you switch the app language.
• How: in the iOS app, this data leaves your device only after you agree on the in-app permission screen; in the Android app, it is sent when you start a scan or send Minty a message. Either way it travels over an encrypted connection.
• Why: only to create your scan results, Minty’s replies and translations. It is never sold or used for advertising.
• Who receives it: OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., USA), our AI provider. No other third party receives it.
• Protection: OpenAI processes this data under its API terms, which give it the same or equal protection as this policy: it uses the data only to provide the service to TeethPal, does not use it to train its models, keeps it for at most 30 days for abuse monitoring, and protects it with encryption in transit and at rest.
• Your choice: nothing is shared unless you scan or chat. In the iOS app you can also withdraw your permission at any time under Profile › AI data sharing; from then on nothing is sent until you agree again. On any device, “Delete Account” erases all your data.

• Reminder settings and brushing logs
• App language and an anonymous device identifier

Your account is created from an anonymous device identifier; no name, email or phone number is required.

How we use data

We use your data only to provide app features. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never share it with third parties beyond sending it to OpenAI to analyze your photos and answer your messages.

Deletion

Use "Delete Account" on the profile screen to permanently erase all your data. Step-by-step instructions and the request path if you no longer have the app: teethpal.app/delete-account.
